ADD YOUR NAME. SEE WHAT $25 GETS YOU?
When I first announced my bold fundraising idea of $25 for 25 years, I was immediately asked, “What do the donors get in return?” In other words, what are they buying for $25? Oh yes, a perfect reminder that we live in a market economy…heh.
One can say the donor gets nothing…
no t-shirts, no buttons, no discounts, no dinner…
what they get may not be physically tangible…
after all it’s the service…the service of dedicating a chunk of one’s life to creating opportunities for our stories to be told, to be seen, to be heard…stories that are hidden even to ourselves.
Another way to look at it is donating money in honor of something already delivered…knowing that a donation of $25 or more will help continue the delivery of the service to the larger community…if any of you out there were a direct recipient of my work/service, open your wallet to help me continue.
And the other question was, “What will Kularts do with a $25 donation? What will it pay for?”
So here goes… $25 will pay for:
- 83% of artist fees for 1 hour of arts instruction
- 83% of our monthly e-mail blast service
- 92% of our monthly internet service
- 3% of our monthly health insurance bill
- 5% of our graphic designer fee per project
- 20% of US visa fee for Tribal Master Artist
- 1 ink cartridge for the printer
- 2 batches of my homemade sangria for concessions
- 5 yards of fabric for youth malong
- 2 rolls of gaffers tape
- 1 lamp for PAR theater lights
So, little by little, your $25 – the price of two movie tickets (3D movie tickets, that is) -will truly help Kularts continue its important work, especially during this time when arts funding is on the chopping block. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly toward supporting Kularts’ operations.
